GIVING/TITHING
GIVING IS GOD-LIKE

We often hear the phrase, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). This beautiful message reminds us that we are called to reflect God's love. In Ephesians 5:1-2, we are encouraged to "be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us." Jesus shows us how to give selflessly. Through the Eucharist and His sacrifice on the cross, He demonstrates that true joy comes from giving rather than receiving (Acts 20:35). When we give, we become channels of that love and experience the fulfillment that comes with sharing our lives, resources, and gifts with others. Remember, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall be given to you” (Luke 6:38). Giving is about more than just sharing money or resources; it’s a way to spread God’s love and grace.

AM I A CHANNEL OF GOD’S GOODNESS?

Consider the Sea of Galilee, which is lively and full of fish, and compare it to the Dead Sea, which is stagnant and lifeless. Both seas receive their water from the Jordan River, but the Sea of Galilee has an outlet that keeps the water flowing, while the Dead Sea does not. This lack of flow causes it to be rich in salt but void of life. This comparison teaches us an important lesson: Life is all about receiving and giving. If we keep everything to ourselves—wealth, love, knowledge—we risk becoming stagnant like the Dead Sea. To prevent this, let’s make it a habit to share what we have with others. Doing so can bring us true happiness and fulfillment.

DONATE WITH A GENEROUS HEART

As you think about donating, remember that you are honoring God, the ultimate Giver who loves us all, His children. He gave us His Son to share in our human experience and to connect us with His divine love, so that we may share in God’s eternal life. Remember, no matter how small your gift may feel, it truly makes a difference! Thank you, Lord God, for being the ultimate source of all that is and goodness. Help us to reflect Your love in all we do. As we give, may our hearts be filled with joy, knowing we are positively contributing to the lives of others and helping to build Your Kingdom.
